WORK ACTIVITY CENTER

Highlights

The GCARC Work Activity Center provides day programming for developmentally disabled adults of Genesee County. The Work Activity Center emphasizes training in work, activities of daily living, and social skills. Clients are involved in production, assembly and product manufacturing in addition to group skill development activities such as communication, health and safety, community awareness and independent living issues.

The Community Employment/Job Coaching Program provides the support needed for individuals participating in community employment.

The Transportation Department offers portal-to-portal bus service for disabled individuals via established daily routes (weekdays).

A Healthy Hot Lunch, complete with beverage, is available for a modest fee. Clients obtain exposure to cafeteria work by assisting food preparation, serving and cleanup.
